Our world and our media are inundated with sexual perversions. Government and mainstream media treat sexual dysfunctions and deviations as perfectly normal. If we do not agree that these are normal and to be accepted, we are considered to be abnormal and intolerant Bible thumpers, biased against activities that God clearly calls sins, even abominations. While we are to love those who are so affected, we are not to accept and agree with their sin but to pray for their repentance. How do we deal with this rampant perversion in our society? Ten Steps to Heartfelt Prayer

 

 Confess your sins first.
Open your prayer by addressing our Father in Heaven.
End the prayer “In Jesus name”
Do not pray against any person’s will.
 

 
 

 

  1. You must have cast your cares upon Jesus (I Pet. 5:7)

  2. Find Scriptures relating to your prayer, sowing the seed of the Word (Isa. 55:11) as well as a monetary seed offering claiming what you have requested. *

  3. Meditate on the related Scriptures, settling the Word in your heart (Ps. 1:2, Josh. 1:8; Isa. 51:7; Jer. 15:16). This will fire you up and make you fervent in your prayer (Jer. 5:14; 23:29).

  4. Pray a fervent prayer (James 5:16).

  5. Quote back to God the covenant promise He has made relating to your request (Neh. 1:5). God’s covenants are sealed in Jesus’ blood, and He cannot break His Word (Isa. 45:23; 46:11; Jer. 1:12).

  6. Remind God of what He said in His Word (Neh. 1:8-11). For example: “Father, You cannot lie, and Your Word says. …”

  7. Precede your prayer in your native language by praying in the Spirit (in tongues) in your heavenly language to your Father. When the Holy Spirit prays through you, He prays the perfect prayer – a prayer that releases miracle-working power (Jude 20; Rom. 8:26-27; I Cor. 14:4,18).

  8. Start praising God for the answer (II Chron. 20:18-21).

  9. Give thanks (Col. 4:2; Phil. 4:6).

  10. Keep staying steadfast in expecting results, avoiding thoughts and words of fear, doubt and undermining (Rom. 4:16-21; Isa. 64:4.)

Note: Don’t repeat a specific prayer as a request. Faith in our Father of Love leads us to simply give Him thanks and praise. Asking the same thing again is a doubting, double-minded prayer (James 1:6-8).
*For example, if you are praying for the salvation of your children, use Isa. 49:25; 44:3; 48:19; 61:9; Gen. 18:19. For family salvation, use Exodus 12:3 (they took a lamb for each household, showing that Jesus’ sacrifice is for the whole family) and Acts 10:1-2; 11:13-14; 16:15,31-34; 18:8). For release from a sin, surrender it to Jesus and claim: “I am redeemed from ______ by Jesus’ blood because my Father loves me.”
